You can bring almost all goods to Sweden

You can freely buy goods in the other EU-countries and bring them to Sweden. There are a few exceptions. Sweden, in the same way as other countries, has rules for the introduction of, for example, drugs, weapons, endangered animals and food.

The goods must be safe and CE-marked in some cases

The manufacturer or importer is responsible for ensuring that the sold products are safe. Some products can be dangerous to the user, for example, electrical products, machines, toys and personal protective equipment. Such products must be CE-marked. The CE-marking works as a declaration that the EU:s safety requirements are met. The product is not allowed to sell without the label.

If you shopping via Internet

You shall pay Swedish VAT for the goods if the company, where you are shopping, is VAT registered in Sweden.

Otherwise, you must pay the VAT, which is applicable, where the company is established. The VAT is paid directly to the company together with the purchase.

Before you buy something remotely from another EU-country, you have the right to know how the product looks and works. You are allowed also to get information about the price, including VAT, and how the payment will make. You have 14 days right of withdrawal from the delivery of the product. Be attentive that the right of withdrawal does not apply to all types of goods.
